Scottish Wedding Vendors is committed to ensuring our website is accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.

What we do

• Semantic HTML — We use proper headings, landmarks, and ARIA labels throughout the site.
• Keyboard navigation — All interactive elements (links, buttons, forms) are accessible via keyboard.
• Colour contrast — Text and interactive elements meet minimum contrast ratios.
• Alt text — Images include descriptive alternative text.
• Responsive design — The site works on all screen sizes, from mobile to desktop.
• Form labels — All form fields have associated labels for screen reader compatibility.
• Focus indicators — Visible focus styles are maintained for keyboard users.

Known limitations

We're a small team and continuously improving. Some areas where we're still working:

• Some vendor-uploaded images may not have alt text — we encourage vendors to add descriptions when uploading photos.
• Third-party content (Stripe payment forms, embedded maps) may have their own accessibility limitations.
• Our drag-and-drop photo reordering in the vendor dashboard requires mouse interaction — we're working on a keyboard alternative.

Technical details

This website is built with ASP.NET Core and Bootstrap 5, which provides a solid accessibility foundation. We use Bootstrap Icons (which include screen reader text) and standard HTML form elements with proper labelling.
